God is Almighty (English & বাংলা)
God is Almighty
Psalms 96:7 Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples, Give to the Lord glory and strength. 8 Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts. 9 Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth. 10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns; The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved; He shall judge the peoples righteously.”
With this sermon I want to say a few things. First of all I want to remind us all how great the Lord, our God is and that God is Almighty and how important that is for our faith and trust that we truly believe that God is Almighty. I will also speak about a coming trial, because I believe that God wants to prepare His people, and I believe that if we believe that God is Almighty, it will give us help and strength in the trials.
The charismatic church in the western world needs to again wake up before the fact that God is Almighty, because we are today loosing that. We have started to believe that God has 51 percent of the power, and the Devil 49 percents, and if we help God with some spiritual declarations God will maybe win.
But that’s not what the Bible says. It says that Christ already has won, that everything is placed under the Feet of Jesus and that to Him has been given all power, all authority, in Heaven and on earth. That’s what the Word of God says.
The battle between good and evil is in our soul, our mind, but not whine it comes to who has won, who has conquered death, sin and the Devil upon the cross. The victory IS won. The Devil is no match for God, He can defeat him in a second whenever He wants to, but He waits because Jesus wants all people to have a chance to repent. That’s why Jesus waits to defeat the Devil, but on day He will.
The church has always believed That God is Almighty and in full control, but today in the West we are loosing it. Bill Johnson, a very famous preacher in the United States, has said: God is in charge, but He is not in control, He has left that over to us. Wilkerson, another famous American preacher, said: God is in FULL control. So who is right and who is wrong? Let’s check the Word of God.
When the Lord delivered His people from Egypt, who was in control? Pharaoh? No. Moses? No. Time and again Moses went to the Lord in prayer and He gave Moses new instructions. God decided when to send the frogs, the flies, grasshopper and God exactly when it should stop. God was in full control.
If we don’t believe that God is in full control over every single situation in our life, it will damage our faith, our trust, our peace. Then I must control my life, sickness, troubles, terrorists, and it will be a great burden to me, instead of placing it in the Hands of Jesus and be given peace. When we give our troubles to Jesus, He will give us His peace. The Lord shall fight for you and you shall be at rest, at peace. We must realize and believe that God is in full control.
I told a very good spiritual teacher in 2006 that I had many attacks from the enemy in my thought life, and one day he said: if you have many attacks, bow humbly under the Almighty Hand of God and He will exalt you in His time.
It’s written in psalms 103. For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him.
When we bow humbly under the Almighty Hand of God and fear Him, God’s grace will be an amazingly great and strong shield all around us, like a wall of fire round us. We have a great, great God, and we are to love and fear Him. But if we say that God is not in control, we start to fear the Devil, and our eyes are turned away from Christ towards the Devil. Don’t do that, fear and love God, and fix your eyes and hearts on Jesus Christ.
In Genesis 35 the Lord says: I Am God Almighty. Jesus said that not a sparrow falls to the ground or a hair is going to be lost on our heads without the knowledge of God the Father. If God is Almighty it means that whatever comes into our lives, it has been permitted by God and always for a reason, and if we love Christ all things work together for good, also things that we don’t understand or that are hard for us, because God is a good and faithful Father.
The Lord has clearly shown me that He will shake and judge Sweden. I don’t know when, but I am sure that hard times are waiting for Sweden, but also for the rest of Europe and North America. The last two years Sweden has experienced a terror attack, this summer extreme dryness so the farmers were in a crisis, and so that thousands of acres of forest were burning down and ruined enormous amounts of money. now we have political chaos in the parliament. And it’s the Lord who has decided this, no one else.
But I read in psalms 96 that God judges righteously. God is just and fair, even when He judges a people. No one can say to God: what are You doing, You are not judging righteously! God is good and righteous.
I love Sweden but I love Christ more. God has warned Sweden so many times, in love: turn away from your sins, turn back to Me! I have blessed your country for a hundred years, more than most countries in the world, still you walk away from Me! I believe that Jesus weeps over Sweden.
Remember this: always when God blesses a person or a people, we have a tendency to walk away from Him. It’s because of our sin nature. So if the Lord blesses you, thank Him for it, but be careful so you don’t start to walk away from Him.
But, and this is a very important but. Jesus says to His people fear not, because I Am! I Am in full control. I Am the first and the last, and I live forever. Jesus always comes with peace, comfort and hope to His people. But I believe that it will be hard times also for Christians.
Christians also go through hard times, but when we do, Jesus is closer than ever. Jesus gives us comfort, strength and is able to help us through any situation. Remember in the book of Daniel how the three Jewish men were thrown in the burning oven, and Nebuchadnezzar said: who can save you now? No one? Yes, Jesus could. Jesus stood with them in the fire and they walked out without any harm.
But I don’t want to give false promises. One day we will also die, and some have to give their lives for Jesus Christ. But when we do, God can give us grace to do as Stephen, the first Christian martyr, who, when he was stoned to death, looked up into Heaven and saw the Son of Man standing at the right hand side of the Father. Nowhere else in the Bible does it say that Jesus stands at the right hand side of the Father, but this time Jesus did and I believe He said: come to Me, My beloved child, and you will be with Me forever and singing and dancing for Eternity.
God will help you whatever you will face. He can rescue us from the burning oven or He can give us grace to see Jesus when we go home.
And no matter what lays ahead you have a future, a hope and a life. You even have a better future than you have now, because here on earth a Christian has joy, love and peace through the Holy Spirit, but we have also trials, testings, worries and tears. But in the next life we have ONLY singing, joy, love and peace. Because we do not belong to this world. Yes, we live here, we work and do what is good, but we don’t belong here, we belong to a spiritual Kingdom, an invisible Kingdom, the Kingdom of God. And that Kingdom is Eternal. No one, not even Trump or Putin, can shake or destroy the Kingdom of God. Yes, they can shake this world, but only if God allows them, because God is Almighty, but God will NEVER allow them to shake or destroy the Kingdom of God.
And your future and hope is built on Christ, and He lives forever and can never die. He lives in you and you in Him. And this rock of salvation is built upon what Jesus Christ did for you and me on the cross and that can also never be shaken. And Jesus said: My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. Your days and every step is secure in the Almighty Hands of Christ until He takes you home.
So stand firm! Hold on to Christ. You have a bright and wonderful future no matter what comes. You have singing and dancing before you and even if you have to face death, and one day we will all face death, you can say: hallelujah! Jesus is my Lord and my Savior and He will bring me the last steps into His Kingdom and He will fold me in His Loving, Strong and Almighty Arms and say: finally, you are with Me forever in My Kingdom.
So stand firm whatever comes. Be brave and courageous. God is Almighty, He is your friend and God can not be shaken. Jesus has already won the victory, and, by grace through faith, God gives also us the victory in Christ Jesus. Amen
