The unshakeable building of God live Uganda short version
An unshakable building from God short version
So let’s turn to 2nd Corinthians 4:16.
”Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
Here we see one of the reasons why we as followers of Christ should not loose courage, nor faith. The things that we meet here on earth, like sufferings, illness and growing old, are breaking down our outer person, our body. But our inner man is being renewed and is actually being built up daily, day by day, and that is a wonderful work of The Holy Spirit.
It is something that God does. We don’t have to do it, God does. The only thing that is our part is to read this book, to read the Word of God, and to stay close to Jesus, to remain in Christ and pray. Those are the main ways to make sure that we grow in Christ.
We don’t lose heart because the things we meet here on earth are temporary. When we suffer, when we are sad, crying or are sick, because we all are from time to time, we should remember: this is all just for a season. This is just for a short moment. An then we rejoice when we think of the eternal truth. It is even said that these sufferings are achieving this for us an eternal Glory.
The apostle Paul writes in romans 8:17
Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Paul says that we are co-heirs with Christ. Think about those words for a second. We are co-heirs with Christ. It means that what Jesus Christ has won for us, the incredible Glory, richness, fullness of peace, joy and grace, that belongs to Christ, all that awaits us in Heaven. All we have to do is be patient when we share the sufferings of Christ.
Paul suffered greatly, and I think that anyone who tells you that as a follower of Christ you should not suffer is a liar. He is a liar. He is not telling the truth.
Yes, when we follow Christ we also have joy, peace and love, but we also have sufferings. The Paul writes:
18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
The things we face here on earth can be very hard, but that is in our feelings, but when we look upon them with eyes of faith, we lift our eyes and see: this is just temporary. What I have in Heaven is forever. We look at the things which are invisible, the things that belong to the Kingdom of God, and look away from the here and now.
In 2nd Corinthian 5:1 it says:
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
The earthly tent is our human body. That tent is going to vanish, because one day we shall be given new, Heavenly bodies. But at the same time we have a building from God, an eternal house in Heaven. And we long and yearn to be clothed in our Heavenly dwelling, so that this mortal body is replaced with an immortal.
The he writes:
Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 For we live by faith, not by sight.
We have been given the Holy Spirit, that dwells within us. It is actually Jesus Christ living within us. That deposit is a promise that one day, we will be given the fullness of Christ. Consider that once more: this deposit within us is a promise that one day, if we hold on to Christ, we shall one day be given the fullness of Jesus Christ. Because we live by faith, not by sight. We don’t consider the things we see and feel more real than the spiritual reality. The Kingdom of God is a reality. It is here, it is all around us, and simply by believing what God says is true, the fullness of those riches will one day be ours.
2nd Corinthian 5:8
We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
We are confident, we just trust God. We trust what God has spoken in His Word. We trust and believe that we have a dwelling in Heaven, prepared for us by Jesus Christ. He has promised. He cannot lie. Jesus is the Truth. What Jesus says is true.
The Devil is always there, trying to tell you that what God says is not true. But he is a liar. He can’t speak the truth because he is the father of all lies. No, what God says is true. Just say: God, You have said it, and I trust Your Word, no matter what I feel.
The Devil wants you to listen to your senses. What you can feel, see or touch. That is the sensual realm and that’s where the Devil works. He says: don’t you see that this earth is coming down? Don’t you see things coming. Don’t you see all things coming to an end?
And then we say: yes I do. I also see hard times coming in my country. But I also know that there is a Kingdom called the Kingdom of God. And that Kingdom is coming, and it cannot be stopped. It belongs to God, and not the Devil, nor Kim-Jong Un, not Vladimir Putin, nor Donald Trump, not demon and no man can stop that Kingdom from coming. No one can destroy it. If Kim-Jong Un sends his nuclear weapons, they can not shake the Kingdom of God. And he can not stop Jesus from coming back as a Victorius Lord.
Jesus will come back as a totally Victorius King. No man can stop Jesus from coming back and establishing His rule over this world. It will happen. The Devil can not stop it.
We must learn to look away from our senses and instead lean upon the Word of God. What God speaks is true. Jesus said in Mathew 24:35
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
What Jesus says is true. We hold on to His Words and He will see us through. But if we want our faith to grow, we must read the Bible often, even in the days when we don’t feel like it, because we live by faith. Read the Bible at least a little while every day, and you will be made strong in Christ.
Jesus will come back. He will establish His Kingdom here. No one and no circumstances can stop that, and the Devil can’t stop Jesus from coming back. So let’s rejoice. Jesus is coming back.
In Jesus Name. Amen.
